TRANSPORT AND GETTING HERE

  • Yes, a visa is required to enter Sri Lanka. You can apply online through the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, which is the fastest and easiest way to obtain entry permission. We recommend applying at least one week before your arrival. The ETA visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once you're in Sri Lanka. You can submit your application directly on the official government website: https://www.eta.gov.lk

  • The easiest and fastest way is by private car or van — the journey from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) takes about 2.5 hours. You can add a private transfer to your booking through our Web Concierge.

If you’re on a budget, you can take the highway bus from Kadawatha to Galle (you’ll need to reach Kadawatha from the airport by tuk tuk or local bus), then hop on another tuk tuk or bus to Casa Tikiri — the stop is just 350 meters from us.

Trains are also an option: Colombo Fort Station connects to Ahangama, the nearest station (2.5 km away). It’s a scenic and affordable trip, though sometimes slower than expected.

  • Absolutely! You can book your transfer during the reservation process on our website, or after completing your booking through our Web Concierge.

  • We don't offer scooter rental directly, but our staff will be happy to help you arrange one — just ask at reception and we'll organise a delivery straight to the property.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

  • Check-in starts at 2 PM.

If you arrive earlier, feel free to relax by the pool or enjoy something at the restaurant while you wait. We’ll do our best to get your room ready as soon as possible.

  • Yes, we’re happy to store your luggage before check-in or after check-out.

Please note that luggage drop-off is available from 8:00 AM on your arrival day and until 10:00 AM on your departure day.

  • If your flight arrives at night or very early in the morning, and you plan to get to Casa Tikiri before 8 AM, we recommend booking the night before so you can check in during the night.

EXPERIENCES AND RETREATS

  • Our mission is to help you create unforgettable memories. We’ve selected some of the best activities in the area that align with our philosophy. You’ll find a QR code in your room that gives you easy access to all our recommendations for excursions, experiences, and places to visit.

  • The high season runs from December to May. The weather is mostly sunny, the beaches are wide, and the waves are just right. Our area isn’t affected by a strong monsoon, so even from May to December, rainy days are usually mixed with plenty of sunshine. Beaches do get narrower during these months, but spots like Weligama and Unawatuna (just 10 minutes from Casa Tikiri) are swimmable all year round.

We’re on a mission to promote travel during the low season too — a time when you can experience a more authentic Sri Lanka, far from the crowds, where peace and quiet let you connect deeply with the beauty of this island.

  • Yes! We organise our own retreats throughout the year — you can find all upcoming dates and details on our Retreats page.

We also love hosting retreats led by others. Casa Tikiri is available for private hire for those looking to create their own retreat — whether focused on yoga, meditation, creativity, or something entirely unique.

We provide an inspiring setting, a peaceful atmosphere, and the spaces you need — including our Yoga Shala surrounded by rice fields, our tropical garden, and two distinct properties just 500 metres apart. If you're interested in hosting a retreat with us, feel free to reach out — we'd love to hear your ideas.

FOOD AND RESTAURANT

  • Yes, our menu includes something for everyone: fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes, gluten-free options, and meals that are not spicy. We do our best to accommodate all dietary needs and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

  • To ensure peace and privacy for our guests, access to the pool and Restaurant is reserved for in-house guests during the day. However, we’re happy to welcome external guests for dinner every evening from 6 PM to 10 PM. Please contact us in advance to book your table!

Our Café, located at Paddy Lodge, is open to everyone throughout the day — the perfect spot for a coffee, juice, or light bite surrounded by the rice fields.

YOGA

  • Yes, we regularly host yoga classes at our serene Yoga Shala nestled among the rice fields.

Schedules may vary depending on the season — during the low season, we usually take short breaks from our regular sessions. We recommend checking our Yoga & Pilates Schedule for the most up-to-date class timetable and details.

  • Absolutely. Our open-air Yoga Shala is available for private yoga sessions, workshops, or small group classes. Whether you're a teacher visiting Sri Lanka or planning a special session, get in touch with us to discuss availability and pricing.
