Ahangama

THE PERFECT BASE TO EXPLORE THE SOUTH COAST

Ahangama is a small and lively village on Sri Lanka’s south coast, still rich in authenticity and natural beauty. Perfectly positioned between Galle and Mirissa, it’s the ideal starting point for discovering the entire southern coastline — and for day trips to Yala and Udawalawe National Parks or the Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve.

HOW TO REACH US

Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) is located 160 km from Casa Tikiri.

The most comfortable and efficient way to reach us is by private car or van — the drive takes around 2.5 hours. You can easily add a private transfer to your booking via our Web Concierge or by sending us an email.

Looking for more budget-friendly options? You can also travel by highway bus or train.

The highway bus connects Kadawatha Station to Galle. From the airport, you'll first need to get to Kadawatha (by tuk-tuk or taxi). The highway bus will drop you off at Galle Station, where you can take a local bus or tuk-tuk to Casa Tikiri — the bus stop is just 350 metres away.

The train runs from Colombo Fort to Ahangama. It’s very affordable and an experience in itself — though it can occasionally turn into a bit of an adventure, with delays along the way. The closest train station is Ahangama, located about 2.5 km from Casa Tikiri.
